This was an outside broadcast truck parked up outside the Milk studios in Hollywood.
In November 2016 I was lucky enough to have been pulled onto a project managed by Adam Pollard for Imagination events, the aim of which was to set a record for the biggest ever live virtual reality experience. The event was devised to launch the Jaguar iPace. The truck was there to feed the event to a number of TV channels.
Put simply, the project involved a couple of truckloads of VR headsets, graphics cards, PCs and miles of network cable. It linked a single VR experience in real time between the US, Canada and the UK. It was brilliant working with a professional, well coordinated and highly motivated team.
At the time I was feeling pretty sorry for myself as I had been made redundant a year earlier. I was just setting up my drone business but that was in its infancy and I knew in my heart I needed something more reliable as an income. I was fortunate enough to find something permanent and am now busier than ever. But I really feel for all those involved in the events industry who have had their world taken apart by the COVID lockdowns with little in the way of government support.
These guys and girls are resilient and skilled and they will survive, but they are hurting now. My drone business involves far more consultancy and training than flying.
If you need anybody with a great attitude, technical capability (in lighting, sound, IT, electronics, project management etc.) then let me know. I have contacts into a fantastic resource base here and I know they would be happy to help.
